The Seoul International Book Fair has come a long way from being a national publishing convention to a premier cultural event that fosters a rich exchange of ideas between Korea and the rest of the world.
It won't just be major international publishers attending the event. Dozens of independent and self-published authors and their representatives will be showcasing their work in the humble hopes of sharing a message to a new reading audience in a different part of the world.
It's certainly the goal of Coby McGee, a Texas businessman who is also something of a Christian evangelist after experiencing a long, uplifting faith journey. He tells his story via his new book “Treasures of Darkness.”
“Treasures of Darkness” describes how he grew up in a troubled home and how it brought about a 'curse' of fear and shame that haunted him until he began to walk with Jesus. It shares essential truths about God that McGee thinks are rarely told in mainstream churches.
Overall, it's a book that aims to help soul-searching individuals who are confronted with what McGee calls 'the default settings of humanity' that people will have to overcome if they wish to make peace with their past, their own selves, and with God.
Attendees to the Seoul International Book Fair 2024 can check out “Treasures of Darkness” when it goes on display at the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet's exhibit. The international book event is scheduled for June 26 to 30, 2024, at the COEX Halls C&D1, 513 Yeongdong-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea.
