The Guadalajara International Book Fair was one of the largest events of its kind in the Spanish-speaking world, with a large attendance that rivaled many other publishing conventions around the globe. It was also a major cultural event for all its attendees. For author and illustrator Wilma R. Forester, it provided a great opportunity to show visitors how her book best expressed her passion for all the arts.
Forester arranged to exhibit “The Adventures of Wild Willy: True Stories from 1940 – 1980,” her memoir covering her life from 1940 to 1980. Accompanying the stories were illustrations that she had sketched and colored herself. The moments she shared included quality time with siblings and childhood friends, as well as her many adventures riding her horse, Bucky.
The book also included a collection of side stories about peculiar individuals and places, giving it a more imaginative touch. But like many memoirs, Forester hoped her book would give readers a glimpse of simpler times and a greater appreciation for how her generation grew up.
Visitors to the Guadalajara International Book Fair 2025 found “The Adventures of Wild Willy: True Stories from 1940 – 1980” showcased at the ReadersMagnet exhibit, a self-publishing and book marketing firm. It was located at booth GG40 from November 29 to December 3. The fair took place at Expo Guadalajara, Av. Mariano Otero 1499, Colonia Verde Valle, Guadalajara, Jalisco, México, and ran until December 7.
Copies of the book were available on ReadersMagnet Bookstore, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.

Author's Biography
Wilma R. Forester is an artist first but loves to write, whether it is fiction or non-fiction. Of course, she gets to illustrate all her stories. Sometimes when she is deep into a tale, it feels like she has stepped into another world and it is a wonderful place of privacy and freedom where she is alone in control and so she paints and writes.
