WASHINGTON, Feb. 12, 2025 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The 2025 Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year® (MSOY) Base Winners have been selected, recognizing the leadership, service, and unwavering commitment of military spouses from installations worldwide. Now in its 17th year, the AFI MSOY® program continues to honor military spouses who go beyond the homefront—leading advocacy efforts, strengthening communities, and driving meaningful change for military families everywhere.
Since its inception, the AFI Military Spouse of the Year® program has provided a national platform to spotlight the 1.1 million military spouses who serve as champions for their families, communities, and the greater military mission. These spouses are more than supporters; they are policy changemakers, nonprofit founders, community leaders, and business innovators who are shaping the future of military life.
"Military spouses are the driving force behind many of the most impactful programs, initiatives, and advocacy efforts in the military community," said Lori Simmons, Executive Director. "Their leadership and resilience strengthen our armed forces, and the AFI MSOY® program is dedicated to recognizing and amplifying their work. These base winners are not just making a difference—they are transforming the landscape for military families everywhere."
From December 2, 2024, to January 17, 2025, nominations poured in from across the country, highlighting exceptional military spouses who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and dedication to their communities. After an intensive selection process and nationwide vote, base winners have been named, each representing their respective military installations. These outstanding leaders now advance to compete for Branch Military Spouse of the Year®, with the final 2025 Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year® announced on May 8, 2025, during a special event in Arlington, VA, in honor of National Military Spouse Appreciation Day.
"This award is not just about recognition—it's about impact. The AFI MSOY® program gives military spouses a platform to lead at the highest levels, to advocate for the issues that matter, and to ensure that military families have a voice in the conversations that shape their futures."
